Senior Pet Health Checks
Kew Vet & Cattery
It happens to the best of us, and just as getting older means we slow down a little, the same goes for our pets. When they reach 8 or 9 years of age, pets are considered to be seniors and their care requirements change. It doesn’t have to mean a massive adjustment in their lifestyle, but you do need to keep a bit of a closer eye on them. We recommend senior health checks every 6 months from 10 years of age – earlier in large breed dogs – just so we can catch any uncomfortable or dangerous conditions as early as possible. These checkups will include a blood and urine test every 12 months and are a great opportunity to talk to us about any concerns and to re-evaluate your pet’s diet and exercise routine.
